Description
The C.O.R.E. Leadership Conference (Cultivating Officers toward Readiness and Excellence) is a national professional-development forum hosted by the Duke University Naval ROTC Battalion. The conference brings together MIDN, cadets, officer candidates, and MECEPs from service academies and ROTC units across the country for lectures, panels, and discussions with military leaders, national-security professionals, and subject-matter experts.
Next year’s theme, “Coordinated Commands: Power through Partnership,” will examine how military effectiveness is strengthened through interservice cooperation, joint operations, and collaboration across domains. Through sustained engagement with leaders and peers from across the profession of arms, participants gain strategic perspective, practical insight, and lasting professional relationships.
Our Mission
The mission of the C.O.R.E. Conference is to cultivate future officers toward readiness and excellence by bringing them together in scholarship, professional fellowship, and shared purpose. CORE challenges participants to engage seriously with the issues most pressing to our nation’s security; think critically about the character of future conflict; and build the judgment, humility, and moral courage required of military leaders.
CORE seeks not only to prepare officers for the operational and ethical demands of military service, but to develop leaders committed to excellence in their profession, their communities, and their lives.
